To some Outposters, the Paddington movies are a delight. To others, they are a pile of twee ol’ British bollocks. Whatever you think of them, they are highly successful, so now we are getting a third. Studio Canal has released the full trailer for Paddington in Peru.
Moving away from the London setting of the first two movies, this is more of an adventure story. The bear returns to Peru to visit his beloved Aunt Lucy, who now resides at the Home for Retired Bears, and brings the entire Brown family with him.
When it becomes clear Aunt Lucy has vanished from her care home, they embark on an adventure through the Amazon rainforest to the misty mountain peaks.
Ben Whishaw returns as the voice of Paddington, alongside Hugh Bonneville, Julie Walters, Madeleine Harris, Samuel Joslin, and Carlo Tous. Emily Mortimer takes over the role of Mrs. Brown from Sally Hawkins.
Jim Broadbent, Olivia Colman, and Antonio Banderas join the cast. Imelda Staunton voices Aunt Lucy. Dougal Wilson replaces Paul King as director. As well as studio work in London, it was shot on location in Peru and Colombia.
Rachel Zegler was due to star, but she had to drop out due to the SAG-AFTRA strikes in the US.
Paddington in Peru opens in the UK on November 8th then the US on January 17th, 2025.
