I was scrolling through Facebook the other day, wasting precious units of my finite existence, when I came across this:
It gave me an idea. Or rather, I showed it to Boba Phil and it gave him an idea. And the idea is this – let’s create our own versions of the ‘Some of you have never – and it shows’ meme for our favourite movies.
Meme Origins
The ‘Some of you have never – and it shows’ meme has been around since 2019. It was originally used to highlight how some people are a bit soft or strange because they never experienced a particular character-building event that shaped you.
Alternatively, it highlights how weird you are because you did experience these things. For example:
Some of you have never been hit in the face with a dodgeball and it shows.
Some of you have never fumbled around in your school bag looking for the homework you know you didn’t do and it shows.
As memes tend to do, they then became increasingly specific and absurd:
Some of you have never had the cops called because you were drinking wine from a Pringles can and riding an electric cart around a parking lot and it shows.
Some of you have never listened to fallout boy with an Asian guy named with Vince in high school while people questioned your blackness and it shows.
We might be late to the party, but this is the first time I’ve seen this meme template applied to movies. So let’s play a game in the comments and come up with our own versions.

We Did the Meme!
To start us off, I asked my colleagues at LMO Towers to submit their ideas. I may have given the answer away already, but here is mine:
Some of you have never conjured an imaginary friend and co-founded an underground combat franchise to rediscover true masculinity and use it as a Trojan horse for recruiting disciples into an anti-consumerist terrorist movement and it shows.
Boba Phil then came up with this more succinct version, proving that brevity is indeed the soul of wit:
Some of you have never created an imaginary friend, built a small army and tried to bring down the system and it shows.
With that in mind, here are a couple of my less wordy entries:
Some of you have never had a creature steal your twinkie and it shows.
Some of you never watched An American Werewolf in London at the age of five and it shows.
Some of you have never been swimmin’ with bow-legged women and it shows.
Here is Stark’s effort:
Some of you have never had your private military contractor rescue unit engaged by the CIA to go on a mission under false pretences and then found yourself facing off against an alien head-hunter deep in the jungle as your team gets picked off one-by-one and it shows.
Finally, Wrenage came up with this gem:
Some of you have never acquired telepathic powers by preventing an autistic boy from eating a dog turd, only to see your friends killed by aliens that emerge from people’s butts in a gory shower of blood and it shows.
