Something For The Weekend

Ahh, the weekend, when you don’t have to go to work, but you are going to think about it all over the weekend and it ruins everything. What you want to do is escape into a movie for a few hours. It’s a good thing the Last Movie Outpost has you covered with some movie and TV show recommendations from all the stuff we have seen this past week.

Weekend
Spoiler – But he goes in pieces
  • Novocaine – Movie – Very average.
  • The Patriot – Movie – With Mel Gibson and still stands up.
  • Dark Angel/I Come in Peace – Movie – A very underrated action flick with Dolph Lundgren.
  • Severance Season 2 – TV show – By all accounts one of the best TV shows in a while.
  • Circle of Fear – TV show – Old but still very good.
  • Chinatown – Movie – Still brilliant.
  • Creature from the Black Lagoon – Movie – Classic.
  • Venom (1981) – Movie – Another absolute hidden gem of a British movie.
  • Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter is Dead – Movie – Not as good as I remember.
  • Rich Flu – Movie – Mary Elizabeth Winstead, in a waste potential, see below.
  • Electric Boogaloo – Documentary – The story of Cannon Films, and really fascinating.

That should keep you going over the weekend.

Rich Flu is now out, and made by the director of The Platform, which I have heard is very good. Rich Flu:

Explores how far people would go to save themselves when the wealth that made the world go round then becomes its most dangerous commodity after a strange disease threatens to kill anyone with any sort of fortune.

It sounded really intriguing, but it was very dull. The last act had Winstead on an island somewhere, trading crap with other people to stop themselves becoming rich. The idea of the money was interesting, but the execution was very boring.

What are you watching over the weekend?
