The weekend is here again, and not quickly enough. It’s been a busy week with movie news, with June kicking off the summer blockbuster season. Are we in for a good summer? Let’s keep positive here, people.
Hopefully, this weekend, you will have plenty to watch. Here are some suggestions.
- 12 Monkeys – TV series – According to Hawk, the first three seasons were really good.
- The Fly – Movie – Cronenberg’s remake and still a great movie.
- Heel – Movie – A new one with Stephen Graham, and not bad, but not great.
- NFT: Cursed Images – Movie – An indie effort, and kind of forgettable now.
- Melania – Docu – About Melania Trump and hilariously bad, see our review.
- Clear History – Movie – A Larry David film in the style of Curb, and a good cast.
- The Hunted – Movie – With Tommy Lee Jones and Benny Del Toro, and a great thriller.
- The Long Kiss Goodnight – Movie – Back when Shane Black wrote a damn good screenplay.
- Howard’s Way – TV Series – Stark again, don’t worry, we’re having an intervention soon for him.
- Good Luck, Have Fun, and Don’t Die – Movie – A great little time travel adventure, see our review.
- Escape from Alcatraz – Movie – I love this movie, peak Eastwood and Siegel.
- Enemy of the State – Movie – Still a decent thriller.
- One Cut of the Dead – Movie – This was probably one of the best zombie takes I’ve ever seen; it’s very, very clever.
- Sinners – Movie – One of the most overrated cinematic events of all time.
- I Know What You Did Last Summer – Movie – The new remake and beyond awful!
- Sweet Charity – Movie – First time watch for me, and not great. I felt like McClain was terribly miscast in it.
- The Jabberwocky – Movie – Early Gilliam and still wonderfully stupid.
