Something For The Weekend

OK, weekend, bring it on. We need some ‘me’ time, and that usually means just getting lost in a movie or seven. The problem, as always, is trying to find something to watch. If only there were a caring, loving group of people who could suggest some great movies for you.

There’s no such thing, but the Last Movie Outpost has some mildly entertaining movie suggestions for your weekend, as always based on things we have watched ourselves recently.

  • The Faculty – Movie – Fun rip-off of Body Snatchers, with a certain really fat extra.
  • Mother Mary – Movie – Psychological horror with Anne Hathaway, and not bad.
  • Is This Thing On? – Movie – With Will Arnett and, according to Hawk, not bad.
  • Ladies First – Movie – ‘Comedy’ with Sasha Baron Cohen; it was terrible.
  • The Smashing Machine – Movie – Really good biopic about UFC fighter Mark Kerr.

  • Cannonball! (1976) – Movie – The original Cannonball Run story, with David Carradine, and pretty good.
  • Deception – Movie – Ewan McGregor would meet women, have passionate sex, and never see them again. I was sickened and annoyed by the entire premise.
  • Bad Milo – Movie – This was stupidly good fun about an evil tumour.
  • All five of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies – This was Yoda, and he liked the first three, then they turned to pants.
  • Accident Man – Movie – Fun action with Scott Adkins.
  • The Getaway – Movie – The remake, with Basinger and Baldwin, and pretty good.
  • Angels & Demons – Movie – The Dan Brown one, and a great story, better than The Da Vinci Code.
  • Over Your Dead Body – Movie – New ‘comedy’ and I didn’t like it, it actually seemed mean spirited and gets worse as it goes on.
  • Desert Warrior – Movie – The one with Anthony Mackay, and not bad, but instantly forgettable.

There you go, that’s your weekend sort. What are you watching?
