Not a cape or a cinematic universe in sight here, just the latest project from Rebel Ridge and Green Room director Jeremy Saulnier. A24 has premiered the teaser trailer for Slayground.
The project was the subject of a fierce bidding war between distributors, and A24 won out. Slayground has been called a cross between the high-stakes chase of The Fugitive and a Halloween-set horror movie.
It begins on the night of October 24th with a mass casualty event at a haunted house attraction, and a man called Graves who wakes up at the attraction surrounded by the dead bodies of his co-workers with no memory of how they got there.
As a state-wide manhunt closes in, he races to uncover the truth, even if the trail leads straight back to him.
Slayground co-stars Cory Michael Smith, Chase Sui Wonders, Sophie Wilde, Stanley Simons Young Mazino, Stephen Root, James Badge Dale, Matty Matheson, Imogen Poots
and Rryla McIntosh.
The film was renamed from October to Slayground quite recently, when it was also announced that Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross were composing the film’s score
Slayground is due out in cinemas on January 29th… just in time for Halloween then?
