It’s that time of the year again when all big wigs in Hollywood slap each other on the back and tell each other how great they all are. Yes, the nominations for the 97th Academy Awards are in.

Set your faces to stunned as Wicked! sweeps the board. I haven’t seen the list just yet, but I’m guessing it will be up for every award, including Best Animated Short and Best Foreign Language Film. Here is the official:

So there you have it, no major surprises, again, I’m writing this before I have seen the award list. I’m surprised to see *insert movie here* is on the list and an even bigger shock to see *insert actor here* is up for best actor. I have copied and pasted most of those, so if I have missed anything, I just don’t care!

I’ll put money on it now, I say that Cynthia Erivo will win an award for Best Actress. If I am wrong, I will watch and review Queer, Will & Harper and Bottoms!

Also, a cynical me giggled to myself to see James Mangold down for Best Director. I wonder if they said to him “James, if you take the hit on ruining Indiana Jones, we’ll give you an Oscar next year?”.
