Filming on DC Studios’ The Batman: Part II has been paused due to director Matt Reeves having to deal with a personal issue. In a statement, a DC Studios spokesperson says:
“Production on The Batman: Part II has been temporarily paused while Matt Reeves focuses on a family matter. Matt has the full support of DC Studios, and we look forward to continuing the journey soon.”
This will be a blow to DC Studios as the sequel had already taken longer than they might have wanted to get to the screen. Internet commentator Grace Randolph had already added to some speculation around the nature of the personal issue, but right now we are unaware of any third-party confirmation.

Filming on The Batman: Part II began in June after a very long development process that had already seen the movie have its dates pushed several times. For now, the film is still locked on February 18th, 2028 as a release date. No word on how long the potential delay could be, but with an array of A-list talent in the cast, all with other projects to go to when their work on The Batman: Part II is finished, then something may have to give in order to keep this project on track.
Robert Pattinson returns as Batman / Bruce Wayne alongside Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Colin Farrell, Andy Serkis, Jeffrey Wright, Charles Dance, Jayme Lawson, Gil Perez-Abraham, Sebastian Koch, and Brian Tyree Henry.
