Golden-Globes

The GOLDEN GLOBES Winners Are…

The ink is barely dry on New Year, so it must be Hollywood awards season! God forbid they have to go a few more weeks without sycophantic back-slapping and basking in their own adoration. After some scandal, including #MeToo-type allegations, the Golden Globes are clawing their way back into the fold. Last night the 81st Annual Golden Globe Awards were held.

While far less serious and self-referential than the Oscars, it is still a largely po-faced and anodyne affair that is typically Hollywood. A few bright years, where the audience was utterly destroyed by Ricky Gervais, forced to sit there in discomfort as their bubbles were burst in front of their peers, won’t be repeated.
