The second season of HBO’s The Last of Us is already underway in Vancouver. The question fans have been asking is how much of the second game will make it into the adaption. To date, the production has been pretty good at keeping a lid on things.

Finally, a local filmscooper Canadagraphs published some images on Twitter showing Bella Ramsey’s Ellie and her girlfriend Dina (Isabela Merced).

New joiners for the second season include Kaitlyn Dever as Abby, Young Mazino as Jesse, Danny Ramirez as Manny, Ariela Barer as Mel, Tati Gabrielle as Nora, and Spencer Lord as Owen. The series will be on HBO early next year. Fans of the game have already started putting together comparisons of in-game locations with the set pics, as you can see via Twitter:

The Last of Us was created by Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann for HBO, based on the video game franchise developed by Naughty Dog.

Twenty years into a pandemic caused by a mass fungal infection, which causes its hosts to transform into zombie-like creatures and collapses society, a smuggler called Joel (Pedro Pascal) is tasked with escorting the immune teenager Ellie (Bella Ramsey) across the post-apocalyptic United States.

On review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, the first season of The Last of Us has an approval rating of 96% based on 481 reviews, with an average rating of 8.75 out of 10. Metacritic calculated an average of 84 out of 100 based on 43 reviews, indicating “universal acclaim”.

Outposter opinions were more muted, with many discussions in the Disqus calling out pacing issues and episode-long detours that did not propel the story forward.
