Just my personal opinion, and I have been known to be wrong quite a lot, but I just can’t shake the feelings of developing flop around this new Narnia series.
The last attempt to make these books into movies fizzled out prerty quickly after eh most famous instalment – The Lion, The Witch, and te Wardrobe – was adapted.
The Golden Compass franchise spluttered and failed after a single entry underperformed, despite being backed up by huge book sales across the series. It seems like nobody cares about young people’s fantasy unless it has the name Harry Potter on the cover.
Still, Netflix are going to have another try, and they have just released the first one-sheet for Greta Gerwig’s Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew.
The first trailer is expected to arrive later today.
The Magicican’s Nephew tells the story of the creation of Narnia, and the magical wardrobe.

Former 007 Daniel Craig plays the role of Uncle Andrew, the magician of the title. He has spent his life investigating magical artefacts, and his actions have unintended consequences for his nephew Digory (David McKenna) and neighbour Polly (Beatrice Campbell).
They find themselves in another world, and accidentally release an evil sorceress who years for ultimate power.

Emma Mackey, Carey Mulligan and Ciarán Hinds co-star in Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew.
The movie will be released in theaters in February 2027 and then on Netflix from April.
