You may or may not know this, but there is a new Dune movie coming out later this year. I know, it’s the first I’m hearing about it as well. We have had a trailer, but there is another one online.
It goes into a bit more detail, but without giving too much away. Dune 3 says it’s the ‘epic conclusion’, but I’ll bet, if this makes money, they will make more. I have said before, I don’t know the story of part three, so I’m looking forward to it.
Dune 3 sees the regular cast back: Timothy Charliemay, Zendaya, Jason Momoa, Robert Pattinson, Florence Pugh, Anya Taylor-Joy, Rebecca Ferguson, Charlotte Rampling, and Javier Bardem. Denis Villeneuve is back as the writer and director.
The story is:
Emperor Paul Atreides faces the fallout from his ascent to power as political plots and a galaxy-wide holy war endanger the future only he can see.
I only know the 1984 movies, which I still love, although some of it is dated. However, I do know Frank Herbert wrote a rather good story in a series of books.
Dune will be released at the same time as Avengers: Doomsday – Dunevengers. Doomsdune. So the 18th of Dec might be a full 6 hours of cinema going. I plan on watching both movies at the same time. I’ll run in between the screens for 15 minutes each.
