Lone Survivor director Peter Berg’s new Netflix project, The Mosquito Bowl, is the first collaboration between Netflix and AMC since K-Pop Demon Hunters.
Bit of a subject switch.

The Mosquito Bowl will be released in select AMC theatres, and some other select locations, to qualify for awards season.
Four weeks later it will premier on Netflix.

The story follows four of America’s most celebrated 1940s college football players who enlisted in the Marines after the attack on Pearl Harbor.
As they train for the invasion of Okinawa on the island of Guadalcanal, they take part in a legendary football game featuring some of the greatest players in college football history. Of the 65 players who took part, 15 were dead within the year.
Nicholas Galitzine, Bill Skarsgård, Ray Nicholson, and Tom Francis play the four players at the centre of the story.
It is based on Pulitzer Prize winner Buzz Bissinger’s bestselling novel. Berg and Mark L. Smith (The Revenant) wrote the screenplay.
The Mosquito Bowl opens in the selected theaters on October 30th followed by Netflix on November 25th.
