Joachim Rønning (Maleficent) directs. This is the third installment in the Tron series, fifteen years removed from Tron: Legacy. It stars Jared Leto, Greta Lee, Evan Peters, Hasan Minhaj, Jodie Turner-Smith, Arturo Castro, Cameron Monaghan and Gillian Anderson, with Jeff Bridges reprising his role as Kevin Flynn.
Tron: Ares will hit theaters October 10. It is brought to us by Walt Disney Studios. The premise is thus:
The story follows a highly sophisticated program, Ares, who is sent from the digital world into the real world on a dangerous mission, marking humankind’s first encounter with A.I. beings.
Timely. You may or may not have heard that various AI things have been going on in the real world. For example, I recently got a Tamagotchi, which I have to feed as soon as I post this.
