Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow is teaming with Amazon Prime Video for Halcyon. This is described as a paranoia sci-fi thriller series. Obviously, his brush with Star Wars hasn’t put him completely off, but this sounds a bit more adult.

No cast is yet set, but it is known that the plot revolves around the near-future Witness Protection Program which now has the ability to not only relocate informants and their families geographically but also temporally – placing them in various eras in time.

One day, this seemingly infallible system is breached. A list of transplanted witnesses is discovered and hit squads are sent through time after them. The show follows Nathan Crew, a simple technician in the now-defunct Time Portal Division of the Witness Protection Programme, who is forced to travel back in time to try to warn the witnesses of the killers that are coming.

The project was developed by Richard Smith, from Christopher Long’s graphic novel Hiding In Time. Smith wrote the pilot. Trevorrow will direct the pilot and executive produce the series. Davey Holmes (Get Shorty) is showrunner. MGM Television, Metronome Film Company, and 1.21 combine to drive the production. Andrew Mittman and Lloyd Braun also executive produce alongside Trevorrow.
