Friend of the Last Movie Outpost, Nate Shepka needs our help. Nate is an indie movie maker from the UK who’s been nice enough to have an interview with us. He’s also been making some great movies.
We’ve reviewed Nate’s movies, Dead Before They Wake and The Baby in the Basket. What’s great about Nate is that he is a passionate movie maker who loves engaging with his audience, so we’re asking the Outposters to help out.
One of Nate’s movies, Dead Before They Wake, has been nominated for Best Thriller by the National Film Academy. That’s a really impressive achievement, and we’re genuinely pleased for him.
How to vote
You can help by voting for Dead Before They Wake by going to the National Film Academy website. You do have to register to vote, but it only takes 4 hours, makes you give some blood, and swear allegiance to Disney, and you’re in.
No, it takes a couple of minutes to register, and you can vote on a few things.
I noticed, alongside Nate’s movie, there are things like Time Travel is Dangerous, and The Ballad of Wallis Island nominated in other categories. Again, two indie movies that have been a great watch and deserve some appreciation.
Another good reason to register to vote is to make sure movies like Cleaner and Gladiator II do not win! Cleaner is nominated for Best Screenplay, which is kind of unbelievable. In the same category, I’m giving my vote to Time Travel is Dangerous or The Ballad of Wallis Island; both of those movies are far more deserving.
From Nate
Nate emailed me with a quote about the nomination:
‘We’re honoured to have Dead Before They Wake recognised by the National Film Awards. The nomination came as a surprise and it is great to know that our work is being seen and appreciated. Thank you to everyone who votes for our film.’
He’s also said that next year, he would like to invite the Last Movie Outpost up to the set of his newest movie. We’ll hopefully get some exclusive footage and interviews while there. Show some love and give his movie a vote.
