RED DEAD REDEMPTION Arrives On PC

I have never played a second of Red Dead Redemption, simply because work, the Outpost, and children have pretty much ended my gaming for the time being. However, Outposter’s whose opinion I value on all matters gaming speak highly of it. Very highly.

It turns out it was released 14 years ago and is now, finally, coming to the PC after being available on two PlayStation versions, an X-Box, and even the Nintendo Switch.

Rockstar Games have loaded in a few enhancements for this version, such as native 4K resolution, 144hz compatibility, Ultrawide (21:9) and Super Ultrawide (32:9), HDR10 support, and full keyboard and mouse functionality, with upscalers like NVIDIA DLSS 3.7 and AMD FSR 3 supported.

NVIDIA DLSS frame generation, adjustable draw distances, and shadow quality settings will all be enabled.

The famous western game was ported by British video game developer Double Eleven. To get your hands on it, you can go to the Rockstar Store, Steam, or the Epic Games Store. Pre-orders open this week.

Red Dead Redemption is set during the decline of the American frontier in the year 1911. It follows John Marston, a former outlaw who, after his wife and son are taken hostage by the government in ransom for his services as a hired gun, sets out to bring three members of his former gang to justice.

It won several accolades, including Game of the Year awards from several gaming publications, and is considered by critics as one of the best video games ever made. It had shipped around 23 million copies by 2021, making it one of the best-selling video games.

Red Dead Redemption II was always available for Windows, so there is no new port of that to look forward to.

Red Dead Redemption for PC arrives on October 29th.
