We usually have Movie Meme Monday, but today there’s an added bonus. In the talkback, Pulverizor suggested a thread for a Monday where we can moan about what we watched over the weekend.
We write up some suggestions for weekend watching every Friday, so this is a companion piece where you can then moan about what you did watch. There will be some new things to watch and some classics revisited. Don’t worry though, the memes are still at the bottom of the page.
The Bayou
This looked like a good weekend watch, a plane crashes in the bayou and there are killer alligators. I mean come on, it can’t be that bad. Well dear Outposters, yes it can. It was bloody awful! And not in a good way, some of the CG was good, but they obviously didn’t spend money on scriptwriters.
The script and acting were the worst. Even the DoP didn’t know what they were doing. When you film a bright background, with characters, light them! Even I know that and I’m a moron! That’s my first Monday moan.
Battle of the Damned
This was the ‘zombies vs robots’ we mentioned the other day. Sorry to say, it was again, bloody awful. It was one of those movies that, if everyone took it a little tongue in cheek, it would have been fun.
Instead, everyone seemed to think they were making an Oscar movie. As it was all taken so seriously, it was just terrible. I’m as annoyed as you are.
