A number of new trailers are online, so we thought we would combine them into one mega-thread, something to gorge on over the weekend.
The Life Of Chuck
Why is it interesting? It’s Mike Flanagan, yay, but it’s from a Stephen King story, boo. Because it’s Flanagan, I’m willing to give it a go. The cast is impressive – Tom Hiddleson, Karen Gillan, Mark Hamill, Chiwete Ejiofor, Matthew Lillard, Mia Sara, Carl Lumbly and, surprise surprise, Kate Siegel.
The story is:
A life-affirming, genre-bending story based on Stephen King’s novella about three chapters in the life of an ordinary man named Charles Krantz.
The Life of Chuck is due out on the 6th of June.
Black Mirror Season 7
Black Mirror is one of those anthology series that is just spot on. Some of the episodes really stick with you, and some really make you think.
It’s a pity to see Awkafina in there, but the rest of the cast is good, Peter Capaldi, Asim Chaudhry, Paul Giamatti, Rashida Jones, Will Poulter, Christin Milioti, Chris O’Dowd, and Siena Kelly.
It’s going to be something to binge-watch when it’s online on the 10th of April.
Tim Burton Docuseries
Love him or hate him, Tim Burton has made some great movies, from Batman to Ed Wood to Mars Attacks. He is an interesting vision in his movies and does tell a good story. There is a new docuseries trailer online.
Tara Wood is known for her documentaries on Quinten Tarantino and Richard Linklater. This four-part docuseries about Burton is due out soon. It includes interviews with Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, Winona Ryder, Michael Keaton, Jenna Ortega, Danny Elfman, Danny DeVito, Christoph Waltz, Christopher Walken, and Mia Wasikowska.
Your Friends & Neighbours
There’s a trailer for Your Friends & Neighbours, starring John Hamm.
That looks like it could be fun. The series will be streaming on Apple TV, and the story is:
A hedge fund manager resorts to burglary after losing his job, targeting wealthy neighbors to maintain his family’s lifestyle, but makes a fateful error breaking into the wrong home.
The series will star Hamm, Amanda Peet, Olivia Munn, Hoon Lee, Isabel Gravitt, Lena Hall, Eunice Bae and Corbin Bernsen. The first two episodes will be online on the 11th of April.
