Putting the disaster of Ghostbusters (2016) well and truly behind him, director Paul Feig is following up Another Simple Favor with The Housemaid.
The Lionsgate project stars Sydney Sweeney, Amanda Seyfried, Brandon Sklenar, Michele Morrone, and Elizabeth Perkins.
The Housemaid follows Millie (Sweeney), trying to escape her past, who accepts a job as a live-in housemaid for the wealthy Nina (Seyfried) and Andrew Winchester (Brandon Sklenar). But what begins as a dream job quickly unravels into something far more dangerous — a sexy, seductive game of secrets, scandal, and power. Behind the Winchesters’ closed doors lies a world of shocking twists that, according to the press release, “…will leave you guessing until the very end.”
The film will explore a twisted world where perfection is an illusion, and nothing is as it seems.
Now, some first-look images from the film have been released.
Todd Lieberman, Laura Fischer, and Feig produce the film, which is an adaptation of the book of the same name by Freida McFadden. Rebecca Sonnenshine wrote the script.
The Housemaid is set for a December 19th release.
