I had a couple of indie trailers to share: this teaser and another one, a sci-fi movie. The sci-fi movie needs more work, from me, to be nice about it. So here is a teaser for The Remedy.
I actually like the fact that they did a teaser, not a trailer. It looks intriguing, but doesn’t give away the story.
The Remedy stars Timothy Granaderos, London Thor, Jenny O’Hara, Chris Mulkey, Dana Sparks, Katie Baker, and Doug Jones. Jones is always interesting; he’s played some wonderful roles in his time, like the Pale Man in Pan’s Labyrinth or the Amphibious Man in The Shape of Water.
The story of The Remedy is:
A troubled young man is the caregiver for both his terminally-ill mother and his mentally-ill sister. When he makes a desperate attempt to save his mom, he unleashes a supernatural entity that feeds on human flesh.
Those old remedies, there’s always a catch. From the press release, commenting on its World Premiere, Director Alex Kahuam stated;
“I’m beyond excited to give horror fans a first look at the teaser for The Remedy, a genre film that blends psychological tension and supernatural eeriness. I’m honoured that The Remedy was selected for its World Premiere at SXSW London, a festival that celebrates the best in film. I’m so grateful to the festival for believing in my work. I’m looking forward to celebrating with you all in London!”
Writer and Producer Daniel Kuhlman added;
“SXSW London’s reputation in the industry speaks for itself. To be included in such an incredible group of filmmakers is the honor of a lifetime. We can’t wait to share The Remedy with buyers and fans in June.”
The Remedy premieres on the 3rd of June.
