Final Trailer: MORTAL KOMBAT II

We’ve seen teaser and trailer for Mortal Kombat II, but we haven’t seen it with the original iconic music. Everyone..sing along!

I’m not expecting anything amazing here, but the movie is shaping up to be fun.

Mortal Kombat II stars Karl Urban, Ludi Lin, Jessica McNemee, Joe Taslim, Hiroyuki Sanada, Adeline Rudolph, Tati Gabrielle, Josh Lawson, and Martyn Ford. Simon McQuoid is back in the director’s chair. The story is:

The fan favourite champions — now joined by Johnny Cage himself — are pitted against one another in the ultimate battle to defeat the dark rule of Shao Kahn that threatens the very existence of the Earthrealm and its defenders.

We know the story, and the movie was made back in 1995, with Christopher Lambert and Robin Shou. It was directed by Paul W. S. Anderson, who went for the ‘family’ market, making the movie a PG-13.

One of the main selling points of the Mortal Kombat games was the finishing moves. They were brutal, bloody and then brutal again. I will also say, revisiting the 1995 version a while back, it’s just not well done. I seem to remember that each punch or kick had an edit on it. There was no real flow to the fighting, and it was more camp than action.

The remake from 2021 of Mortal Kombat went back to its roots a little and brought the blood, lots and lots of blood.

Mortal Kombat II is in cinemas on the 8th of May. We have to until Oct for the Street Fighter reboot. Which are you looking forward to?
