Paramount Sued By Customers Over WBD

This is America, dammit! So if it is worth saying, say it with a lawsuit. There is no such thing as an accident or an event in such a highly litigious society.

Touch -me-rocky

It is always somebody’s fault, so lawyers gonna lawyer. The lawyers at Paramount are particularly busy right now.

Their latest annoyance comes in the form of a group of Paramount customers who have filed a lawsuit against Paramount Skydance seeking to block its acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery.

The lawsuit was filed Thursday in U.S. District Court in the Northern District of California, the district that has to deal with all of Hollywood’s drama.

The lawsuit alleges the Paramount-Warner deal will lead to increased prices, fewer consumer choices and reduce production of film and TV so will reduce competition and be bad for the consumer.

The suit also alleges the merger has already led to higher prices for the Paramount+ streaming service.

The plaintiffs are a collection of existing Paramount+ subscribers, cable customers who access Paramount-owned TV channels, and those who watch movies in cinemas.

Paramount is aware of the lawsuit and is “confident that it is without merit”.

My coffee has gone cold while I was writing this up. Who do I sue!!?!?!
