A HOUSE OF DYNAMITE Release Set

From Point Break to Strange Days, The Hurt Locker to Zero Dark Thirty, Kathryn Bigelow is always interesting. So it was a bit surprising to look at her filmography and realise that she hasn’t released a movie since Detroit in 2017.

She’s back now, with a project that sounds intriguing – A House of Dynamite.

Bigelow

It is a Netflix production, and we talked about it here at LMO before. It will now get a limited theatrical release in early October ahead of the streaming release on October 24th.

The premise is simple. A single, unattributed missile is launched at the United States. A race begins to determine who is responsible, why it was launched, and how to respond appropriately. From the moment of missile lauch, the story will be told from the point of view of inside the White House, and in real time.

The cast is pretty big. It stars Idris Elba, Rebecca Ferguson, Gabriel Basso, Jared Harris, Kaitlyn Dever, Tracy Letts, Anthony Ramos, Moses Ingram, Jonah Hauer-King, Greta Lee, Jason Clarke, Malachi Beasley, Brian Tee, Brittany O’Grady, Gbenga Akinnagbe, Willa Fitzgerald, Renée Elise Goldsberry, and Kyle Allen.

It was written by Noah Oppenheim, who wrote Zero Day for the streamer.

Filming took place in October last year in Trenton, New Jersey. It wrapped and entered post-production in December.
