ALIEN: EARTH Images Are Online

The new Alien: Earth series is on the way, and will be on the small screen from FX on Hulu and Disney+. Entertainment Weekly has some new images from the series.

Not giving much away, is it? All we know is the series is about Aliens and it’s on Earth. FX has said it takes place at the end of this century, but it’s closer to 2120.

The original Alien movie takes place in 2122, so this new series happens a couple of years before we meet the crew of the Nostromo. I don’t know why, but I always thought Alien was set closer to today, sometime in the 2000s.

Noah Hawley is the showrunner; he is known as the creator of the Fargo and Legion series. He wanted to set Alien: Earth on Earth because:

“The alien stories are always trapped… Trapped in a prison, trapped in a space ship. I thought it would be interesting to open it up a little bit so that the stakes of ‘What happens if you can’t contain it?’ are more immediate.”

According to Variety, this new series will “explore the formation of the Weyland-Yutani Corporation and the race to create android life.” Great, more AI.

Alien: Earth stars Alex Lawther, Essie Davis, Timothy Olyphant, Kit Young, Adarsh Gourav, David Rysdahl, Babou Ceesay, Lily Newmark, Adrian Edmondson, Sandra Yi Sencindiver, and Moe Bar-El.

The first two episodes will be streaming on the 12th of August. In space, no one can hear you scream, but on social media, you can scream as much as you like.
