THE GREAT DEBATE: Underrated Movie Theme

Dear Outposters, gather around the great halls, for it is time to debate. There’s nothing like having a mass debate with friends.

So gather people, prepare yourselves for heated debate, gird your loins, grab your sword and shield, and do up your little sandal boot things and show off your painted toenails.

Debate

This week’s debate is all about music. I mentioned Starman the other day, and the fantastic score it had. The composer was Jack Nitzsche, who’s not the biggest name, but had worked on movies like One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, An Officer and a Gentleman, Jewell in the Nile, and Stand By Me.

We all know about people like John Williams, Ennio Morricone, and Hans Zimmer. When it comes to scores, we know about Star Wars, The Good, The Bad and the Ugly, and Gladiator. However, for this debate, what about the unknown movies scores, ones that people don’t know about?

Another I want to throw into the ring is the theme from The Last Starfighter by Craig Safan. Listen to this great opening theme.

So, for the great debate this week:

What is the best unknown theme from a movie?

What movie score gives you goosebumps? What theme from a movie is classic, but you think no one else has ever heard of?

Join the great debate, people, and let us know what you think is the best unknown score.
