It starts with A Simple Favour, then there’s Another Simple Favour. Blake Lively, Anna Kendrick and Paul Feig are returning for a sequel to the first movie, with, well, another one. Here is the trailer.
I have seen A Simple Favour, but I can’t tell you a thing about it now. It had Lively and Kendrick in it and, umm, that’s about it. The plot for the first one was:
Stephanie is a single mother with a parenting vlog who befriends Emily, a secretive upper-class woman who has a child at the same elementary school. When Emily goes missing, Stephanie takes it upon herself to investigate.
I’m still drawing a blank. Well, it seems the movie was worth a sequel, and by the looks of it in exotic locations. Was this sequel just an excuse for everyone to have a free holiday? No, Hollywood isn’t like that.
Another Simple Favour is all about:
Follows Stephanie smothers and Emily nelson as they head to the beautiful island of Capri, Italy, for Emily’s extravagant wedding to a rich Italian businessman.
This new sequel stars Lively, Kendrick, Allison Janney, Michele Morrone, Elizabeth Perkins, Herny Golding, Andrew Rannells, Aparna Nancherla, Kelly McCormack and Bashir Salahuddin. I can’t say if anyone is returning, as I don’t know and can’t be bothered to look it up.
Feig is directing, with Laeta Kalogridis and Jessica Sharzer writing. The former is known for writing Shutter Island, Altia: Battle Angel and Altered Carbon.
Lively has had some, umm, issues of late and this caused a rumour that this sequel wouldn’t see the light of day. With everything that is going on, it’s wonder if this movie will do well.
Another Simple Favour will be streaming on Prime on the 1st of May.
