Ari Aster’s EDDINGTON Teaser Trailer

You may not have heard of Eddington, but it’s the newest movie from Air Aster, so it will be logical, make a lot of sense and have a definitive ending. There is a trailer online.

Not giving much away, is it? The cast is impressive, though Joaquin Phoenix, Pedro Pascal, Luke Grimes, Deirdre O’Connell, Micheal Ward, Amélie Hoeferle, Clifton Collins Jr., William Belleau, with Austin Butler and Emma Stone.

The story of Eddington is:

In May of 2020, a standoff between a small-town sheriff and mayor sparks a powder keg as neighbor is pitted against neighbor in Eddington, New Mexico.

So Civil War in a local town. You might be American, but what kind of American? Eddington is described as a described as about the Covid 19 pandemic, but without being about the pandemic.

It’s about how mad people become during the pandemic. I’m guessing there will be a toilet paper salesman, with people frantically trying to buy as many rolls as they can. I remember the Great Andrex Stampede near me. That cute puppy tried to run off with that toilet paper, but I got him…I got him good!

Eddington will be the fourth movie from Aster, after Hereditary, Midsommer and Beau Is Afraid. He’s someone who started out well, but they is slowly doing an M Night Shyamalan. Hereditary was an excellent horror movie, but the last two needs more explanation.

A24 is producing the movie, and they are a good fit for each other. A24 likes to produce, umm, unusual movies. We recently saw they want to remake Bloodsport, the Van Damme classic.

Eddington will be in theatres on the 18th of July.
