The ongoing search for the new James Bond is about to enter the final straight, with the screen test days kicking off today.
Various reports say that the list is now down to four. Jack Lowden (Slow Horses), Josh O’Connor (Disclosure Day), Callum Turner (One Night Only) and an unknown and unnamed candidate are to take part in the round of tests.
Other reports say different names. If the above is true then that means Jack O’Connell and Jacob Elordi are out of the running.
The Hollywood Reporter claims multiple sources with knowledge of the process.
Let’s be clear, this casting is locked down so any leaks are the producers floating names to gauge reactions.
The tests will also take place over the weekend in London, and will involve tests around dialogue, stunts, and camera presence.
Last time this happened was over 20 years ago when Henry Cavill and Alex O’Loughlin (not Sam Worthington, as many mistakenly report) were beaten out by Daniel Craig.
Denis Villeneuve will be present with new producers Amy Pascal and David Heyman.
