Everybody loves a Rocky movie, right? Even when cartoonish or cheesy, they hit you right in the feels. Anyone who has ever had a workout playlist on their iPod knows Vince DiCola’s Training Montage beat for beat.
So it is safe to say we are quite looking forward to I Play Rocky.
Amazon MGM Studios has released the second trailer for Peter Farrelly’s biopic set around the making of the 1976 movie.
Anthony Ippolito plays the young Sylvester Stallone. The struggling actor with a speech impediment has written a script that every movie studio wants to buy.
There is just one issue. He refuses to sell it to any of them unless he can play the lead role.
He turns down offer after offer of increasingly life changing cash for the script, and instead works with a tiny budget to get the movie made with himself in the starring role.
I Play Rocky co-stars Matt Dillon, AnnaSophia Robb, P.J. Byrne, Toby Kebbell, Tracy Letts, Jay Duplass, and Stephan James as Carl Weathers.
Rocky went on to become a smash hit, spawned a whole franchise and grabbed ten Oscar nominations, winning for Best Picture.
The film opens with a limited release on November 6th ahead of a wide release on November 20th, the 50th anniversary of the release of the original.
