CHEESE: The Movie

OK, that headline is not strictly true. It is just another opportunity to roll your eyes at Tinseltown.

A big shot Hollywood agency has got a new client.

Some cheese.

Cheese

United Talent Agency (UTA) has signed Parmigiano Reggiano, the real paresan cheese, not that processed muck they sling in most supermarkets.

According to a report at Dark Horizons, the Parmigiano Reggiano Consortium aims to get their genuine cheese front and centre in films and TV shows.

Ready for some corp-speak? The plan is to let UTA:

“…leverage its expertise and global connectivity across entertainment and culture to introduce Parmigiano Reggiano to a wide pool of partners, to further its message of gastronomical excellence and high-quality ingredients, production and distribution.”

While many supermarkets label that packeted filth they sell us as “Parmesan”, it is often just any old hard cheese.

Parmigiano Reggiano is the only real Parmesan, and can only be made in one of five places in Italy with raw milk and via their specific, strict set of manufacturing and production rules.

The group marketing chief Carmine Forbuso says:

“We’re excited to explore new formats and platforms to express this story globally.”

We look forward to seeing James Bond explain the history of Parmesan to a young lady to woo her into bed.
