Doomsday

DOOMSDAY Pre-Sales Go Huge

It was inevitable. Pre-sales for Avengers: Doomsday have reportedly crossed $125 million worldwide.

That puts its pre sales alone on par with the entire global box office take of Supergirl, and look like it is stacking up to be one of the highest opening weekends of all time.

The report, published in Forbes, covered the numbers as part of an extensive feature piece.

Doomsday presages opened in July, but only for the premium or large format screens. General tickets then went on sale more widely from late August.

There are about 45 days until the movie starts to open, and the marketing campaign hasn’t really kicked off in earnest yet.

Doomsday

Imagining the press junket logistics for this damn thing is quite entertaining.

People who will be flying around to promote it include Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Paul Rudd, Robert Downey Jr., Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Anthony Mackie, Winston Duke, Sebastian Stan, Letitia Wright, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Joseph Quinn, Kelsey Grammer, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Alan Cumming, Rebecca Romijn, James Marsden, Channing Tatum, Wyatt Russell, Simu Liu, Tenoch Huerta Mejia, Mabel Cadena, Florence Pugh, Danny Ramirez, David Harbour, Hannah John-Kamen, Lewis Pullman, India Rose Hemsworth, and Wesley Holloway.

So far we know that the movie will feature the multiverses colliding as Marvel stars past and present face a threat unlike anything they’ve ever encountered.

There is also a rumor online that the Avengers logo reveals some details about all of the Avengers movies, and therefore gives a clue about the outcome of this one.

Hint: It’s in the circle around the “A”.

Avengers: Doomsday opens in cinemas on December 18th.
