EVIL DEAD BURN Trailer

We missed this, but then, with good reason. The third of the new Evil Dead movies, Burn, is due out next month. Here is a final trailer for the new movie.

Evil Dead Burn stars Hunter Doohan, Luciane Buchanan, Souheila Yacoub, Erroll Shand, Tandi Wright, and George Pullar. Sébastien Vanicek is the director and co-writes with Sam Raimi and Florent Bernard. The story is:

After the loss of her husband, a woman seeks solace with her in-laws. As one by one they transform into deadites, she comes to discover that the vows she took in life – survive even in death.

As I recalled, in the first of the Evil Dead reboots, it was about finding the Necronomicon in a deserted cabin in the woods; you know, like the original series. The second movie was about roughly the same thing, with Bruce Campbell leaning his voice.

Apart from that, these new Evil Dead movies are all set ‘in the same universe’, which means they can do whatever they like. I’ve caught some slack on the socials for saying that these new reboots are nothing like the originals.

I know the original Evil Dead was a horror, but then they turned Ash into a legend and made great horror/comedies. Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness are stupidly good fun, with some great horror in them.

These new movies have taken a serious tone, taken out the comedy, and most importantly, removed Ash. This is like a Tron movie without Tron, you know, Tron: Arse.

Name me one character in the new Evil Dead movies. All I have to say is ‘Groovy!’ and you know exactly who I’m on about. I think these new reboots are just mediocre horror movies with a sticker on the front saying Evil Dead.

“But they have Sam and Bruce’s names on them!”

Yeah, of course they do, I’m pretty sure Sam and Bruce like money for old rope.

Evil Dead Burn will be in cinemas on the 10th July.
