Cars go vrrrm, vrrrm, and they definitely do in the new trailer for F1: The Movie, starring Brad Pitt and director Joseph Kosinski.
I’m not a big on of F1, but this movie does look good. F1: The Movie stars Pitt, Javier Bardem, Damson Idris, Kerry Condon, Tobias Menzies, Simone Ashley, Liz Kingsman, Kim Bodnia, and Lewis Hamliton.
Kosinski is directing and writing, with Ehren Kruger penning the screenplay. Kruger is known for writing Arlington Road, Reindeer Games, the (US) Ring movies, and Top Gun: Maverick. The story for F1: The Movie is:
A Formula One driver comes out of retirement to mentor and team with a younger driver.
Pitt plays a driver, dubbed “the greatest that never was” as he comes out of retirement to help out a new young teammate. He was a promising Formula 1 driver in the 1990s until an accident ended his career.
A struggling F1 team contacts him about coming out of retirement to drive alongside an up-and-coming driver. As the engines roar, the competition between the two drivers starts to really heat up.
F1: The Movie is produced by Warner Bros and Apple. Interestingly, the seven-time world champion real-life F1 driver, Lewis Hamilton, is starring and producing the movie. I’ve not seen him act, but maybe he’s just playing himself.
F1: The Movie will be in IMAX on the 25th of June.
