Teela Revealed For MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE

As an Outposters of a certain age, Masters Of The Universe means more to me than it probably should.

From the awesome toys to the camp as Christmas cartoon series. From the comics to the awful yet somehow awesome movie adaption. It just reminds me of a simpler time in my life.

A time of climbed trees and scuffed knees. Of all day pushbike expeditions and building shelters out of discarded building materials in some woods.

So I feel a sense of both anticipation and trepidation when I think about the upcoming live-action Masters Of The Universe movie.

Above all, AmazonMGM Studios, just make it look and feel like the cartoon while making it fun, please?

Now some set pics have leaked online via pop culture channel DeuxMoi.

We see more of Nicholas Galitzine as Prince Adam/He-Man in his Earth clothes. The big news is that we finally get to see Camila Mendes as Teela.

This is apparently only one of multiple outfits Tesla will wear in the film.

I had some concerns over the apparent Earth setting. For the infamous Cannon Films adaption, the Earth setting was used to cheap out on creating a cinematic Eternia for huge swathes fo the movie.

Apparently there is no need to fear. Reports say that in this version of Masters Of The Universe, Prince Adam was sent to Earth as a small shield for his protection.

Now, as he reaches adulthood, he is called back to Eternia to unlock the mysteries of his past, his links to Castle Grayskull and to defend his home against the forces of Skeletor.

So only a short sequence at the very beginning will take place on Earth. Judging from these set pics, it is Teela who is sent to retrieve his from his exile.

Masters Of The Universe features Idris Elba as Duncan/Man-At-Arms, Alison Brie as Evil-Lyn, Morena Baccarin as the Sorceress, and Jared Leto as Skeletor.

Also starring are James Purefoy as Kind Randor, Charlotte Riley as Queen Marlena, Sam C. Wilson as Trap Jaw, Hafthor Bjornsson as Goat Man, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson as Fisto, and Kojo Attah as Tri-Klops.

Travis Knight directs from a script by Chris Butler with first draft by David Callaham, and Aaron and Adam Nee.

Masters Of The Universe opens worldwide on June 5th 2026.
