As the standard superhero and sci-fi smash ‘em up summer season rolls out, those weary of the same old content will already be looking ahead to the time of the year that more niche movies start to be released. Like Werewulf.
The first official photo has now been released.
The photo shows Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s lead character, helpfully called “Man”.

Werewulf is set in 13th-century England and reportedly features dialogue that was true to the time period. It will also have translations and annotations as it uses Old English for the dialogue. Which al sounds like it has great potential to disappear up its own behind.
The film was originally planned to be shot in black and white, another sign that if this movie were a human being, it would wear a fedora and smoke a pipe, trying hard to appear mysterious at parties.
That plan has been nixed. It will now be color.
Eggers has co-written the film with Sjón and they produce alongside Tim Bevan, Garett Bird, Eggers and Eric Fellner.
Werewulf is said to be the “darkest thing” he’s ever written.
It stars Lily-Rose Depp, Willem Dafoe, Ralph Ineson, and Bodhi Rae
Werwulf is released in cinemas on December 25th
