As is now traditional for big movies, there are a few promotional tie-ins for The Fantastic Four: First Steps. One of them, with Snapple, has resulted in the first real look at the character of primary villain Galactus.
The images confirm that what we can see of his face will indeed be based on actor Ralph Ineson’s real face.
His last appearance in live-action was the much-derided shadow inside a cloud from Tim Story’s Fantastic Four: The Rise Of The Silver Surfer all the way back in 2007.
In this new version, we will encounter Marvel’s First Family in their own universe – a 1960s-inspired, retro-futuristic world – as Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic (Pedro Pascal), Sue Storm/Invisible Woman (Vanessa Kirby), Johnny Storm/Human Torch (Joseph Quinn) and Ben Grimm/The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) have to face off against the world-devouring giant.
Obviously, some multiversal shenanigans are to be expected as the family will have to somehow end up in “our” prime MCU in time for Avengers: Doomsday.
Walter Hauser, John Malkovich, and Natasha Lyonne co-star. Tickets are on sale from June 4th ahead of the opening on July 25th.
We can moan about superhero fatigue all we want, but this year really will seemingly be a summer of superheroes at the movie theater. Will the box office hold up?
