So Takashi Yamazaki’s Godzilla Minus Zero just had a press screening and world premiere at the New York Film Festival, and the first reactions are making their way online. To say this movie is highly anticipated by fans of the Big G is an understatement.
Godzilla Minus Zero takes place two years after the last movie, in 1949, as Japan tries to step away from the nightmares of war and monsters. However, peace is short-lived when Godzilla returns, fully regenerated, larger and more ferocious than ever before, endangering the fragile nation.
The first movie famously embarrassed Hollywood by making something that looked staggeringly good on a budget that was roughly equal to the catering bill for the last Star Wars movie.
