Indie Trailer: HOLY DAYS

I can’t remember the last time I saw Nuns on the Run, but I did see a nun with the runs once, though. Well, prepare for a new road trip, with nuns in the trailer for Holy Days.

It looks sweet enough. A group must take a road trip to save a nun and their building. Hang on, chuck in some musical numbers, and you have the Blues Brothers.

Holy Days stars Jacki Weaver, Miriam Margolyes, Judy Davis, John Bach, Craig Hall, Jonny Brugh, and introduces Elijan Tamati. Nat Bolt also stars, writes and directs. The story is:

A lost boy in search of heaven, three odd nuns on a mission, a car powered by God (and stolen money). This is a road trip like no other. A comedic near-tragedy that just keeps going South.

The rest is from the press release. Holy Days has already captured the hearts of international audiences and critics alike, with Film Threat calling it “the definitive feel-good movie of 2026…”

Packed with warmth, wit, and a wonderfully eccentric sense of humour, Holy Days is a heartfelt celebration of resilience, community, and the families we create along the way. Beneath its laughs and road-trip antics lies a touching story about belonging, hope, and finding purpose when life takes an unexpected turn.

A young boy finds refuge with three delightfully eccentric elderly nuns at a run-down convent facing shutdown. A road trip like no other, Holy Days is a joyful comedy packed with heart, humour, and high-speed hijinks. It’s a story about letting go, holding on, and finding home in the most unexpected places.

Holy Days is released in UK cinemas on the 14th August.
