Tarantino, Minogue, Wales… What?

Who had this on their movie bingo card this morning? A report over at Dark Horizons has revealed that Quentin Tarantino and Australian pop music legend Kylie Minogue are working together on a film set in the town of Porthcawl, Wales.

What? Why? How? Many speculated it was just a commercial, but it turns out the answer is far more intriguing.

According to Variety they are shooting a movie called Tangled Up in Blue and it features co-stars Jason Isaacs, Allison Williams, Sofia Boutella and RZA.

There is also some local Welsh talent in the form of Karen Paullada, Julian Lewis Jones, Craig Russell and Siwan Morris also star.

The Tarantino and Minogue scene was a funeral being shot at Newton Church, then the wake at the Saltwater Inn.

This appears to be happening because the director, Jamie Adams, has a connection to Tarantino via a shirt film they made together, Only What We Carry, that was shot in six days in Deauville, France.

That co-stars Simon Pegg and Charlotte Gainsbourg, having its premiere at Tribeca recently.

Tangled Up In Blue is produced by Sabine Stener, Randy Kleinman and Jordan Yale Levine for Visor Entertainment.

Outposters of a certain age have possibly only just recovered from Kylie Minogue’s Agent Provocateur ad.

I think I need to lie down.
