Hello fellow Outposters. It’s another Monday, another week at work, and more time taken away from watching movies, which is what our sad, pathetic lives are all about; I know mine is. Never fear, though; there are memes below: funny ones, dodgy ones, and just others we have found.
Did you watch anything good this weekend? Or do you have to have a Monday moan?
I’m not having a moan this Monday, but more of a cautionary tale. I put on The Mummy (1999) last week, and had tremendous fun with it. Then I put on The Mummy Returns (2001), and it’s not as good, but still entertaining. I mean, yes, the CG is bloody awful, but it’s still a fun romp.
I then put on The Mummy 3: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor (2008), and it was not good. In fact, it was terrible. The story is pretty much the same as the first one, with a mild difference in the ‘love story’ of the bad guys. Rachel Weisz is swapped out for Maira Bello, and they make a bad joke about it. The kid is now grown up and just annoying. Everyone seems bored making it, even poor Fraser.
2008 is when Fraser had his ‘issues’, so maybe that was affecting him, but you can tell he didn’t want to be in Mummy 3. With The Mummy 4 now in production, I feel for him. Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad to see him back, but he always seemed like he wanted to get away from the action movies and start ‘acting’. Maybe I’m wrong, but putting him in another Mummy movie seems like they are adding ‘memberberries.
It’s also weird they are bringing back Weisz and not Bello. Enough of me prattling on; here are Monday’s memes.
