Monday’s Movie Memes… And Moan

It’s another Monday, the summer is here, the sun is shining, and you’re doing your best to stay inside. The sun is bad; it’s hot, burns your skin and causes a reflection on the TV. The only good thing about the sun is that it kills vampires.

We should start a petition to turn the sun off! Please excuse me, it’s Monday and I’m already in a bad mood.

The weekend is over, it’s now Monday. What did you watch this weekend? What do you need to moan about this Monday?

I watched three new indie movies, and you can see my reviews of them on the main page over the course of the next couple of days. They were interesting, but nothing amazing, sadly. I did end up watching the original War of the Worlds (1953). The budget for that movie was over $1 million, in today’s money, that’s about $120 million, so nothing has changed.

The end of War of the Worlds always makes me giggle, there is the line:

The Martians had no resistance to the bacteria in our atmosphere to which we have long since become immune. Once they had breathed our air, germs, which no longer affect us, began to kill them. The end came swiftly. All over the world, their machines began to stop and fall. After all that men could do had failed, the Martians were destroyed and humanity was saved by the littlest things, which God, in His wisdom, had put upon this Earth.

You’d think, God, in his wisdom, just didn’t have to create Martians in the first place… it would have saved a lot of lives on Earth.

Enough of me prattling on, what did you want over the weekend and need to moan about this Monday? And enjoy the memes this week.

Please help keep the lights on at the Last Movie Outpost, if you can spare a few bucks.
