This is it, the last Monday of 2025. As of next week, it’s all getting better for 2026. Everything will be better next year. If I am wrong, may I be made to watch terrible movies and review them. Actually, that’s what I said at the end of 2024.
Since this is the last Monday of the year, it’s time for a good old moan, not just about this weekend, but the whole year. We have a Best of 2025 and a Worst of 2025 incoming over the next couple of days, but this Monday, what do you want to moan about for the year of 2025?
The Great Flood
My other moan this Monday is about The Great Flood on Netflix. I put it on last night as it seemed interesting. It’s a Korean movie, about, well, a great flood. It turns out, it’s more like Edge of Tomorrow. A lady has to save her son, but it’s a training program to make A.I. learn emotions.
This isn’t the worst of it. I went on social media and found one person who was defending the movie, and saying how it’s only enjoyable to ‘smart’ people. What the person failed to miss was the massive, glaring plot holes. Training the A.I. is to repopulate the earth because of the flood. It turns out, to repopulate the earth, they are going to use synthetic humans that have learned all human emotions.
I take it the writer of the movie hadn’t heard about sex. It’s a system humans have been using for a few years now, which causes the population to go up. Basically, when a man and a lady love each other very much, they go to bed, close the door, and nine months later, a stork delivers a baby. It’s a good system and makes for more interesting movies than The Great Flood.
Scientists knew the Earth was doomed, but instead of taking a bunch of men and women into space, they built a computer simulation for the A.I. human synths, to learn how to care like a mother. Also, the kid in the movie needed to die. I know I shouldn’t say that about a movie character, especially a kid, but talk about the most annoying character ever!
The Great Flood was a bloody stupid idea, and that’s my Monday moan.
