Kumail Nanjiani is set to make his directorial debut for Amazon MGM’s revived Orion Pictures label, in horror comedy Howl.
The Wrap reports that Nanjiani will also star. He plays a troubled actor who makes a bombshell announcement on a talk show – he’s a werewolf, and he is going to transform in one hour on live TV.
It was written by Madison Vanderberg, who is a former entertainment and pop culture writer and her script was selected for the Black List in 2024.
Howl will be produced by Nanjiani alongside his wife and producing partner Emily V. Gordon.
Other producers are Dani Melia, Akiva Goldsman, Greg Lessans, and Rachel Wizenberg.
Vanderburg is currently working at Netflix, on comedy Corporate Retreat. Meanwhile Nanjiani and Gordon will move onto tho project when the comic book adaptation of Sex Criminals is done at Amazon.
