When The Suicide Squad first came out, no one thought that Peacemaker would get a spin-off show of his own. Not only did the series do well, but it now has a second season on the way.
Back in 2022, DC and Warner Bros seem to cancel a number of projects. However, new saviours stepped in, in the same of James Gunn and Peter Safran. The Peacemaker’s future was in limbo.
Yes, Peacemaker was Gunn’s show and it had already been renewed by Max. The show was in a better place than most of DC movies or shows. It was part of an older DCU, as Gunn was brought in to relaunch the universe.
According to an IGN article, from 2024, the new season of Peacemaker will take place after the events of Superman. Does this mean that David Corenswet will make cameo? Only Gunn knows.

It’s been three years since the first season of Peacemaker. Most of the original cast are back John Cena, Steve Agee, Danielle Brooks, David Denman, Nathan Fillion, Jennifer Holland, Isabela Merced, Tim Meadows, Frank Grillo and, surprise surprise Sean Gunn.
It is just me, but was casting Grillo weird? I’m more into Marvel than DC, so I see him as Rumlow, not Rick Flag.
James Gunn, has written and directed the first episode of season 2 of Peacemaker, which will be streaming on the 21st of August on Max.
