Netflix has released the first teaser, and it really is just a teaser, for their new sci-fi drama Spaceman. This will arrive on the streamer on March 1st.
It stars Adam Sandler as the solitary astronaut on a research mission to the edge of the solar system named Jakub. While on this trip he realizes that the marriage he left behind might not be waiting for him when he returns to Earth. Desperate to fix things with his wife, Lenka, he is helped by a mysterious creature from the beginning of time he finds hiding in the bowels of his ship. It works with Jakub to make sense of what went wrong… before it is too late.
The film is based on Jaroslav Kalfar’s 2017 novel Spaceman of Bohemia. It has been directed by Johan Renck, who won an Emmy for his work on Chernobyl. The screenplay was written by Colby Day. Renck has said this features a performance of the kind we haven’t seen before from Sandler:
“He may come across as funny and sweet and all that, he’s very intelligent, really smart, profound.”

Spaceman co-stars Carey Mulligan, Kunal Nayyar, Lena Olin, Isabella Rossellini, and Paul Dano co-star. Channing Tatum, Reid Carolin, Peter Kiernan, and Michael Parets produce whilst Renck, Ben Ormand. and Barry Bernardi are executive producers.
