SUPERMAN Reveals Run, Character Posters & More

James Gunn has shut down the commentary on Warner Bros. asking him to make Superman shorter. According to both Gunn on social media and an AMC listing, the movie is 129 minutes long, inclusive of post post-credits scene. On the Warner request, he said simply:

“Zero truth to that, and they couldn’t even if that’s something that they wanted to. It’s a DC Studios film.”

The major marketing push is now getting underway, and audience interest and buzz levels for Superman are tracking as high. It is still too early for box office tracking, but projections are pointing to a $175 million domestic opening weekend.

As part of this marketing build-up, new character posters have been released that highlight the major players, including some whose motivations remain unclear at this point. These are available all over the internet right now, but here are a few:

CBM reports that tie-in toys and books for the film have revealed that Abominable Snowmen will appear in the movie, living near the Fortress of Solitude. Meanwhile, new featurettes from the film are also now beginning to roll. The first is on Guy Gardner, the Green Lantern of this movie. The featurette makes plenty of fun of his haircut.

A second featurette covers the character of Robot #4, voiced by Alan Tudyk but largely performed by a robotic puppet, with CGI in some iterations.

More TV spots and a second full trailer are imminent. Superman opens in cinemas on July 11th.
