SUPERMAN Sets ’25 Record As New Trailer Drops

Tickets for James Gunn’s Superman haven’t even been on sale for 24 hours, and according to a report in Deadline it has already beaten the record for most first-day advanced tickets sold in 2025. It went ahead of The Fantastic Four: First Steps, which went on pre-sale last week.

The data comes from Fandango, and the report also says Superman is now set as the most anticipated summer movie of 2025 with the highest awareness tracking of the year.

The hurdle bar is set at the $166 million opening of Zack Snyder’s Batman v. Superman, and early tracking data from the pros is due any day now.

To celebrate the ticket sales opening, Wanrer Bros. and DC Studios have dropped a third trailer for the movie, and this one shows a lot more new footage, centring on Lex’s loathing of the Man Of Steel.

As the blurb has always said, this movie follows Superman as he looks to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing, guided by human kindness in a world that sees it as old-fashioned. More details from DC this week have added a layer of detail to this. Superman has a deep belief in the inherent goodness of humanity, even when a lot of humanity seems to be losing belief in itself in a more cynical age.

Can he become the symbol of hope that he always strived to be?

Superman stars David Corenswet as Clark Kent, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Isabel Merced as Hawkgirl, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner, Edi Gathegi as Mr. Terrific, Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho, and at least a cameo from Milly Alcock as Supergirl.

Superman is set for release globally starting July 9th 2025. It will arrive in the US on July 11th.
