Guess who’s back? Brendon Fraser and Rachel Weisz are back for The Mummy 4. Some images of them back in character are online.
Weisz looks like she’s ageing like a fine wine. However, she shouldn’t be in this fourth movie; in the third one, Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, she was replaced by Maria Bello. There was a joke about how she was a ‘completely different person’.
Hollywood, right? They just switch people out and hope that no one will notice.
There is still no news on the story for The Mummy 4, just that the gang is back together. Including Beni, played by Kevin J. O’Connor. Technically, he shouldn’t be back either; he was left to die in the original movie, about to be crushed and eaten by scarab beetles. However, knowing Beni, he must have had an escape plan.
There’s no news on whether Arnold Vosloo or Patricia Velasquez are back. Is this going to be a Mummy movie without a mummy? Maybe they are going to get a new one.
All we know is that filming has started for the new movie, with Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett directing. Filming is taking place in London; I should pop up there and see if I can get on set. I mean, Fraser is the spitting image of me. Oh, wait, he only looked like me in The Whale.
