Is anyone else getting a bit bored of Yellowstone, and everything connected to it? They say familiarity breeds contempt, and there is a lot of familiarity with the various goings on at the ranch.
When it first came out, it felt like a breath of fresh air. Great drama, fantastic scenery, unapologetically masculine in a hugely feminised world. It was another slice of great American television.
Then, like all successful shows and movies, single-tracked Hollywood thinking took over, and the pre-programmed Executive somewhere reverted to a line of thinking:
”If one is good, then more must be better!’
Suddenly we are drowning in spin-offs, continuations, sequels, prequels, and adjacent “content” and what was once fun is suddenly both exhausting and annoying.
At this stage it, it feels like the only people still watching it all are people desperately trying to convince themselves of something.
This is not stopping anything, Yellowstone will not be denied, and therefore Paramount has premiered the official trailer for Dutton Ranch.

This is a spin off, and it follows Rip and Beth Dutton as they gamble everything on a new life owning a 7,000-acre ranch in South Texas and the promise of building a future far from the ghosts of Yellowstone.
However, their dreams quickly collide with brutal new realities and a rival ranch that will stop at nothing to protect its empire.
Who knew that noveau-Cowboys were so butch and catty?
Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser reprise their roles. They’re joined by Finn Little as Carter, Juan Pablo Raba as Joaquin, Jai Courtney as Rob-Will, J.R. Villarreal as Azul, Marc Menchaca as Zachariah, Natalie Alyn Lind as Oreana, Ed Harris as Everett McKinney, and Annette Bening as Beulah Jackson.
Christina Alexandra Voros directs and executive produces. Chad Feehan was the showrunner, but he exited.
Dutton Ranch launches on Paramount+ on May 15th, which is just next week.
